About The Course

Certificate in Safeguarding and Child Protection for Staff in Early Years Settings

All staff who provide childcare for children of pre-school age have a responsibility to provide a safe environment in which children can learn. They should receive appropriate child protection training, and regular updates, in order to provide them with the relevant skills and knowledge to safeguard young children effectively.

Developed by Lorna Ponambalum, an independent safeguarding and inclusion consultant, this Essential CPD course provides you with the knowledge and skills to understand your child protection and safeguarding duties if working in an early years setting.

Please note: The course consists of learning through video, task completion and further reading/research. Please consider this when planning and allocating your time. To successfully understand and achieve the objectives of the course, learners are expected to engage in all aspects of the learning process and complete all relevant activities to ensure they can successfully apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in their own setting.
