It is vital you understand the difference between positive action and positive discrimination, as well as how you can adopt a fairer and more inclusive workplace for your employees.

This essential CPD course provides you with the core content you need to ensure your workplace is meeting its legal requirements in equality and diversity and is promoting a more tolerant, inclusive and diverse working environment.

Module 1: Equality, diversity, and inclusion context

In this module, you will learn what EDI (equality, diversity, and inclusion) is and how it applies to your organisation. You’ll also learn what your legal responsibilities are under the Equality Act 2010.

Module 2: Discrimination and the law in the workplace

Module two will demonstrate examples of different types of discrimination that can occur in the workplace, including recognising the difference between direct and indirect discrimination and how this can be avoided.

Module 3: Unacceptable conduct in the workplace

In module three, you will learn what different types of behaviour constitute unacceptable conduct in a workplace setting.

Module 4: Inclusive teams

In this module, you will understand the importance of fostering an inclusive team within the workplace, how natural biases or presumptions can have a negative impact and how this can be negated.

Module 5: Review and reflect

Module five will offer you the opportunity to reflect on what you have learned throughout the course and review your own policies and workplace atmosphere.
