Mental Health and Wellbeing
Alice Newton-Leeming has been studying, volunteering and working in the field of mental health and suicide prevention for almost 15 years. Having graduated from Coventry University with a Psychology degree (while also volunteering for the Samaritans and BeatBullying), Alice embarked on a career of supporting others through helpline work and training delivery.
She worked for Papyrus – specifically addressing suicide prevention in young people – for eight years and supported those bereaved by suicide through the charity Listening Ear. She now delivers training on behalf of (among others) YoungMinds, Mind and Every Life Matters, as well as running her own organisation, Mental Health Learning, which develops and delivers courses as well as creating bespoke webinar content.
Passionate about empowering others to help and support those who they work with and/or care for, Alice believes that mental health and suicide prevention is everyone’s business.
This webinar will provide headteachers, schools leaders, teachers and support staff with practical guidance and advice on understanding the impact of technology use on their mental health and wellbeing and managing ways to ensure they get the balance right.
In this webinar, Alice Newton-Leeming, Director of Mental Health Learning and wellbeing expert with over 14 years’ experience, will discuss the relationship between technology and mental health, what impact it can have and what steps staff can take to look after their own wellbeing.
This webinar will provide headteachers, school leaders, teachers and non-teaching staff with an understanding of and practical advice on the relationship between harmful content online and children’s mental health and how this may manifest into suicidal thoughts and self-harm.
