Ben is an experienced primary school teacher, ITT lecturer, SLE for Computing and ICT, Resource Developer and Computing at School (CAS) Community Leader.
As SLE in computing and ICT, Ben has provided support to schools on maximising IT provision through the Manchester Teaching School Alliance. Support has taken the form of school-to-school support, CPD sessions and events workshops.
As Schools Direct ITT Teacher Trainer (science and computing), Ben planned and delivered subject enhancement sessions on behalf of Cumbria University for Schools Direct trainee teachers (Manchester Teaching School Alliance).
He has also delivered sessions to local primary schools on the use of Barefoot primary computing resources and train the trainer sessions for BT volunteers wishing to run workshops in school.
AS CAS Lead Master Teacher, Ben has run CPD sessions on introducing computer science to the primary classroom; physical computing; cross-curricular programming; delivered talks at national and regional conferences; and hosted workshops for The University of Manchester and Edge Hill University.
Ben is also a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator and qualified trainer for OLEVIs outstanding teacher program and improving teacher program.
