Gary Henderson has worked in education for over 20 years, initially as a trained secondary school teacher in the UK before periods working in further and higher education, international schools in the Middle East and more recently in his current role as Director of IT in a large UK independent school.
Gary is passionate about the potential of technology in teaching and learning, and has led various technology projects as a teacher, middle leader, senior leader and educational consultant. This has also led him to present at several conferences both in the UK and in the Middle East.
Leading the IT Services Team in Millfield in Somerset, his focus is on providing technology services which enable student learning, while cyber security, data privacy, online safety and ethics in relation to technology use are all subjects Gary is keenly interested in and issues he believes need to be more openly discussed with students in schools.
