Marc Tench

Marc Tench

Marc Tench is a former geography teacher, with 16 years’ experience working in schools, including as a Key Stage 3 coordinator for geography.  During this time, he was also a subject mentor for PGCE trainee teachers. Marc has a master’s degree in education and has recently completed a postgraduate certificate in wildlife and conservation management. 

Marc previously worked as a ranger for Forestry England, initially as a volunteer shadowing a community ranger, and then managing visitors, maintaining trails, and working with volunteers at a site in the National Forest.  

Marc now works full-time in the Sustainable Schools team at Leicester City Council  as an education officer, where he works on a variety of environmental projects with schools. This is often in partnership with organisations such as Learning through Landscapes, WWF, Keep Britain Tidy, and Earthwatch Europe. Marc also supports schools with gaining their Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, through a combination of staff training, teacher support, and hands-on work with young people in schools across Leicester.
