Michael Barry

Michael Barry has over 25 years’ experience in education, with 15 years in senior leadership across three different schools, including five years as Head of Secondary and four years as Principal of a successful, mixed, all-through academy in South East London, with over 1,200 on roll. 

Currently he is enjoying teaching and all things careers as an educational consultant. Last year, Michael received an award from the Mayor of London in recognition of his outstanding achievements in careers education. 

His school improvement experience has included being part of a team responsible for taking a school out of special measures; creating one of the first state 3-16 academies; as Principal, receiving inspection judgements which were graded at least 'good' in all areas, and leadership and management graded as 'outstanding'; and as an educational consultant, leading school improvement across a number of schools.
