About the Data Security for Schools webinar

Most data breaches don’t involve high-tech malicious attacks by outsiders, but occur due to the pressures of day-to-day working in busy environments. This webinar will look at the risks involved, and help you identify high-risk areas. These are not the areas you might think – deliberate attempts by others to access personal data unlawfully – but rather occur at your desk or workspace areas, when you transfer data via post or email, and when you are on the move taking work with you, either home or to other school sites.  Simple but clear policies can help reduce these risks.

The webinar looks at practical steps you can take to minimise the risk of data breaches, how you monitor and track your data security policies, and what to do if something goes wrong. Policies need to be thorough but practical, so that they protect your learning community whilst allowing staff to focus on improving learning outcomes.

Legal and Ofsted obligations for your school to comply with GDPR

Under current legislation you already have a duty of care to ensure that school records, databases of student and staff information are kept safe and secure, and with the GDPR coming into effect in May, you’ll be required by law to comply with this new regulation.

Did you know that failure to comply with GDPR regulations can lead to fines of up to £500,000 by the ICO? Our GDPR for Schools webinar will help you to understand the changes coming into effect and how they could affect your school.
