Established in 1953, Sir Robert Pattinson Academy is a coeducational secondary school based in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire.
The academy has an enrolment of over 1,000 pupils and offers education for students from the age of 11 all the way through to 18.
With a passion for ensuring they are across a wide range of eSafety issues, Sir Robert Pattinson Academy became members of our Certified School Programme, which eventually led to them becoming an accredited school – after they’d taken the necessary steps as a whole school community.
Taking a whole school approach isn’t just about ensuring the staff and pupils are up to speed with all things related to online safety; it’s about external stakeholders too.
The academy has also reached out to parents, who’ve embraced the opportunity to extend their knowledge of eSafety matters.
Rebecca Gilbert, Assistant Head Teacher & Head of Sixth Form at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy said: “It (National Online Safety) is a nationally recognised provider. We have used the online materials for some time, including for our parental engagement events and on our social media.
“Parents are also pleased that we invest time and resources into supporting our pupils to be safer online.”
Accessing our new Online Safety Hub has led to a vast number of staff at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy undertaking personal CPD training in what they’ve described as a “slick” fashion.
“Staff found National Online Safety’s training courses slick and easy to access, making it a useful addition to their CPD for this year,” Mrs Gilbert stated.
“I’ve found National Online Safety’s resources very useful for use in both lessons during personal development and with our stakeholders.
“The service has been excellent, very friendly and helpful. Thank you for being great to work with.”
