In exciting news, we are proud to announce that the National Online Safety App has been successful in two categories at the Teach Awards 2021.
In the Teach Primary Awards, our app won the 4* star award, recognising the breadth of resources available and how it provides a convenient and flexible way for schools to support their staff in providing high-quality remote learning and safeguarding pupils online.
Lee Parkinson (Mr P ICT), primary teacher, author and teacher trainer, who was the main judge for this category, stated:
"For a subject that is often seen as a weakness as far as subject knowledge for teachers, National Online Safety offers an impressive wealth of tools to support teachers and staff with digital literacy. From building staff's confidence and knowledge with their online courses, to providing interesting, relevant and engaging lessons for students, this resource is a fantastic way to support schools with online safety."
The National Online Safety App also won the 3* star award in the Teach Secondary category which acknowledged the rounded functionality of the app and it’s ease of use.
Adrian Briggs, who is a curriculum leader of computer science and lead teacher of virtual digital technology at Middleton Technology School, and who judged this category, stated:
"A great little app that allows teachers and parents to view and filter online safety information. Its search and refine functions are easy to use, and the way updated content is matched to what's relevant in real time is very good."
James Southworth, Director for the National Education Group, under which National Online Safety sits, said:
"We're delighted to be picking up two Teach Awards for the National Online Safety app. After launching it last year, the response has been phenomenal and the feedback so far from the school community has been nothing but positive. We wanted to make sure that trusted adults had the ability to access online safety information anytime, anywhere and with our app, it just makes everything so much easier. It's a really proud moment for the team and fully-deserved for all the hard work they put into it."
