About The Webinar

An Introduction to Online Copyright & Ownership

Deliberately infringing copyright can be a criminal offence. Just because something is found freely on the internet, doesn’t mean it’s free to download, distribute or use.

Children and young people should also be aware that it’s not a legal requirement for artists or publishers to put copyright notices or watermark images on their work. That means downloading and using that image could result in the photographer pursuing payment.

That’s why it important that trusted adults speak to children and young people about what copyright and ownership means and how to ensure they work within the right frameworks.

This webinar is presented by broadcaster and online safety advocate Myleene Klass. Its content has been developed in collaboration with our expert Heather Cardwell, a practising online safety lead who is CE-OP (Child Exploitation Online Protection) trained.
