This webinar will provide governors, headteachers and school leaders with an overview of research carried out by the DfE exploring how new education technology (Edtech) is successfully implemented and embedded in schools and colleges.
On 29 September 2022, the DfE published its findings following research looking at the implementation of Edtech in schools and colleges. The study was commissioned to understand what works in EdTech to establish a strong evidence base for effective use of technology and embed this across the school system, so that it is easy for schools and families to use the best products at the right time.
This webinar will explore the key findings from the research including areas such as identifying needs, planning, implementation and the importance of training, support and monitoring processes, and how the research may impact the use of Edtech in schools.
Understanding the rationale behind and main objectives for undertaking the research, and a summary of the key stakeholders involved.
Identifying the key stages that schools considered important when implementing technology, including identifying needs, decision making, piloting and implementation.
Recognising the importance of training and support as part of the Edtech process and what success factors were identified to ensure Edtech was embedded successfully.
Understanding the different approaches that schools used to monitor the effectiveness of technology and the main challenges they came up against, even after implementation.
Appreciating what the research found with respect to the benefits and impact of introducing Edtech and the conclusions that can be drawn from the report.
