What is online racism?
Instant connectivity and social media have transformed the world, but they can be used for both good and bad.
A negative side-effect of the ability to instantly connect with people is that it’s now even easier for racists to spread hate and abuse.
Memes and videos containing racist slurs are commonly spread across platforms such as Twitter, YouTube and TikTok and passed as entertainment.
On the other hand, it can be so subtle that other people don’t even notice it.
