What are terms and conditions?
Whenever you sign up to a new online account or software service, you will typically have to agree to some terms and conditions before you are allowed to complete the account.
These ‘Ts&Cs’ are a catalogue of rules, requirements, provisions and standards that create a contract between you and the service provider.
You must abide by all clauses in this contract to use the application or make an online purchase for example.
Many users don’t take the time to read the Ts&Cs and yet this establishes their legal relationship with companies and how they use their data.
For more information on the associated risks and online safety tips for parents and carers, watch our explainer video, available to those with a National Online Safety membership.
This webinar will provide governors, headteachers, senior leaders, DSLs and all school staff with an overview of Ofsted’s research into online sexual abuse and how it is managed in schools, as part of their wider review of current safeguarding practice in relation to sexual harassment and sexual violence in schools and colleges.
Online streaming is a seamless way of watching or listening to all sorts of content such as TV shows, films, sports highlights, and music, over an internet connection, without having to download a file or store it on your device.
Social media is the term we give to websites and apps that allow us to connect with each other and share photos and comments. Today, social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram are used by billions of people every single day.
